After the weekends food poisoning
or tummy bug, I got stuck in to Clear communications yet again over another clients account. Oxymoron just doesn't cover it. Theres nothing clear about Clear and the way their sales staff (phone driven) sell and then provision products. So the average client has to get a techy in (me) to sort it all out. Nice for me, but it makes me mad.

Computer repairs - bread and butter
Ok, so I repair computers, broadband,Macs, networks - the list goes on. I'd like to call myself a full-time web developer, but in Wanganui that's difficult at best, so I do other stuff. I'm on call basically 24/7 and my business is word-of-mouth with very little advertising - my clients love me even though I'm a grump. It's very rare I'm stumped on what to do in any techy situation. Yesterday I managed to figure out the Xtra (Telecoms Internet Arm) had started really enforcing the 10MB limit for email attachments. 2 clients bombed out sending big files, so after much arsing about and incidental repair work, we got it all sorted. Thanks Xtra, you really are a gem of a company and so GOOD to your customers - all of whom will desert your sinking ship once UFB gets here!
Opening statement
My name is Shaughan Tizard and I am a reluctant blogger. I sometimes want to vent a little and facebook is too personal and immediate, so I thought I'd try this. I'm a web developer and could easily set up my own blogging system, but this seemed too easy to pass up. Plus, I just LOVE Google. So here we are. My posts will be mainly political in nature, and I will share some of my workday successes and coolers with you. Oh, and talk about poker. And my wife. And my daughter. Next question: can you separate posts into categories? Let's find out.
